Leanne
Morley, Owner and Manager, has over 15 years experience
within the mining industry ranging from working within the NT Government
(DPIFM – Titles Division), and private mining and exploration
companies in various roles - Tenement Officer, Personal Assistant
and Office Manager.
Leanne moved to Darwin at the age of six with her family and has grown up in Darwin. After completing an Administrative Traineeship with the Department of Works, Leanne worked in the Titles Division of the NT Department of Mines and Energy for a number of years before moving on to tenement management and administrative co-ordination for a period of eight years in both Tennant Creek in the NT and Charters Towers (Pajingo and Mt Leyshon Mines) in Queensland for Normandy Mining Ltd.
Having returned to Darwin, Leanne was until recently Tenement Manager for Arafura Resources Ltd, managing all aspects of its mining and exploration tenements.
Recognising that there is a great need for additional tenement consultants in the NT and the other states of Australia, Leanne formed Australian Mining and Exploration Title Services.
Cristel
started out her life on Nobles Nob, Tennant Creek with her parents
and a grandparent working for Peko Mines and Australian Development
Ltd so it was hardly surprising that she followed in their footsteps
and set her career in the mining and exploration industry.
Cristel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the AMETS Team. She has a career background spanning 23 years with the mining industry and titles management. Her expertise and industry knowledge stems from her extensive experience in tenement management from extractives, to mineral exploration, to mining operations. She has an in-depth knowledge of all related legislation and has particular expertise in managing projects affected by the Aboriginal Land Rights Act (ALRA).
Her experience with the NT Government is extensive, where she worked in the Titles Division of the then NT Department of Mines and Energy (now called Primary Industry, Fisheries and Mines) from 1985 through to 2004. Cristel worked during this time in each area of the Titles Division, and prior to her departure was specialising in exploration within Aboriginal Freehold Land.
In 2004, Cristel was employed by the Australian Government with ATSIS (a division of ATSIC) in the Land Rights Branch. When ATSIC was dissolved, the Land Rights Branch continued to exist, resting finally with the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. During this time, Cristel gained further valuable experience in exploration on Aboriginal Freehold Land in the NT and was MC to several seminars in 2007 on the amendments to the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (ALRA) .
In July 2007, the Australian Government delegated the
majority of Part IV (Mining) of the ALRA to the NT
Government. In April 2008, Cristel was drawn back to the industry
by accepting an offer from Australian Mining and Exploration
Title Services as Senior Tenement Consultant.
